According to Petrobras data, the current Brazilian production is more than 2 million barrels per day. However we know that crude oil is a highly corrosive substance, and oil companies have had problems with the surface degradation of barrels intended for storage and transportation. The need arises for a material inert to this corrosion to be coated. In this work, the stability of ceramic composites Al2O3-TiO2-Y2O3 with 5-20% of TiO2 and 4-5% of Y2O3 by means of thermomechanical processes was studied. These composites were submerged in the crude oil of land and sea of ??the Sergipana region of Brazil for 30 days and were subjected to structural, microstructural and mechanical analysis through XRD, optical microscopy, SEM and Vickers microhardness. The results of the tests showed that the composite was not altered in structure or microstructure. Thus, it is possible to conclude that this composite is of great potential for coating inert to crude oil. |
