The glasses obtained presented a little difference in chemical composition when compared with the nominal composition due to a small corrosion of the crucibles. Differential thermal analysis (DTA), optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), dispersive energy spectroscopy (EDS) and X ray diffraction (XRD) were used for studying the glass crystallization mechanism and the crystalline phases developed in the glass-ceramic. Surface crystallization of melilite and diopside was observed. |
