Abstract
08-113 Ducinei Garcia Aristizábal Valencia, M.E.(Universidad de Antioquia); Garcia, D.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos); Eiras, J.A.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos); Londoño, F.A.(Universidad de Antioquia); The effects of the doping of Ytterbium, (x = 0.5,1.0,1.5 and 2.0 in mol %) on the crystallite structure, microstructure and dielectric properties of 0.86Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 + 0.13PbTiO3 + 0.01La2O3 + xYb2O3, were studied in detail. The polycrystalline ceramics were prepared by the solid-state sintering method. The structural and microstructural properties of the compounds were examined through X-ray Powder Diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. The result show increased in the average grain size as the amount of doped YbO2 increased and an increase of the dielectric constant was observed in the case of higher doping concentration, as well as a decrease diffusivity of the of the system. This has been explained by the incorporation of rare earth ion at site B of the microstructure. Dielectric properties studies provided some interesting physical parameters useful for news devices applications.
