In this way, the MgO was obtained by the calcination of Mg(NO3)2.6H2O and TiO2 by a hydrothermal method. The semiconductors were mixed in different proportions (m/m) and calcined to obtain the heterostructures. It was observed that the presence of MgO favored the photoreduction of CO2 in the heterostructure containing 1% of this oxide, mainly in basic solution. In addition, TiO2/MgO 1% presented expressive selectivity for both CH4 and CO, HCOO- and CH3COO-, confirming that the addition of MgO increases the process efficiency compared to pure TiO2. |
