Recent developments in mineral-based eco-materials

13-041	Agnes Smith	Smith, A.(Institute of Research for Ceramics, European Ceramic Center, UMR CNRS 7315, Université de Limoges, France);	Eco-materials are materials which, amongst various characteristics, can be manufactured from recycled materials, can minimize environmental impacts, or are beneficial for human wellbeing. This talk will illustrate these three aspects on mineral-based eco-materials through some examples and also topics that have been developed in the laboratory such as the valorization of dam sediments in the cement industry, the manufacture of clay bricks without firing by using humic-like substances, and the monitoring of the microstructure of plaster boards for improving the acoustical insulation in houses.
