The ZnO has been early and widely studied due to its high mobility of conduction electron, good chemical and physical stability, low cost, and so on. Thus, this work had as aim the production of ZnO nanofibers by the use of the SBS technique. Zinc acetate was used, as a ceramic precursor, in the concentrations of 0.4mmol, 0.1mmol and 0.05mmol and PVC as the formation vehicle for the fibers. After spinning, the obtained fibers were calcined at 600°C and characterized by scanning electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. According to the results, it was possible to obtain nanofibers of ZnO using a concentration of 0.05 mmol. The fibers obtained after the spinning process had a mean diameter of 392±150?m and after calcination, ZnO nanofibers with an average diameter of 231±82?m were obtained. In addition, the results of diffraction and x-rays indicate formation of ZnO phase with hexagonal structure, crystalline form of wurtizite.
