17-067 | Gen Hayase | Hayase, G.(Tohoku University); | Porous composite monoliths based on boehmite nanofibers (BNFs) and polysilsesquioxanes (PSQs) can be obtained via a simple sol-gel reaction. Each BNF is surrounded by PSQ to form core?shell type fibrous skeletons, which cross-link each other to configure a 3D porous structure. Wet gels are obtained simply by mixing a BNF acidic aqueous sol and alkoxide at 80 °C, followed by ambient pressure to obtain low-density monoliths without cracks. The xerogels show elastic flexibility against compression and thermal insulation properties. |
