Due to the importance of the ceramic sector for civil construction and the local economy, the present project aims to analyze the quality of the ceramic tiles of the type commercialized in the city of Teresina - Piauí. Samples were collected from 7 plants of the big Teresina pole, following the provisions of NBR 15310/2005. The products were characterized by tests of visual characteristics, sonority, size, average yield, water absorption capacity, impermeability and compressive strength of the tiles. The cost-benefit ratio was determined through the direct relation between quality assayed and price informed in the place market. The companies analyzed use firewood as fuel, with an average time of ten days in the production of a lot, mainly using vaulted furnaces. Of the tested products it was observed that all the companies analyzed were rejected in some of the tests carried out, and none of the companies was approved in the test of average yield. With respect to the tests of rectilinearity, water absorption and impermeability all the companies were satisfactory. By the research it was observed that the product with higher cost in the local market did not present the best technological characteristics among the participating companies, demonstrating an error in the association better product higher cost. <!--[if gte mso 9]> |
