The State of Paraná concentrates different ceramic poles, the most representative pole is the one in Prudentópolis city, that is situated in the central region of the State, with focus on the production of ceramic blocks, which has low iron clays, providing a light color of the pieces after sintering. Clays with high plasticity and provide white burns are widely used in the ceramics industry as tiles, porcelain, dishwasher tables and sanitary use, however, in Brazil, few deposits provide material with these characteristics, the most favorable deposit is located in São Simão, inSão Paulo state. As a result, the behavior of Prudentópolis clay in porcelain masses was analyzed in substitution of São Simão clay.  Test pieces of 60 x 20 x 2 mm were molded, which were sintered at different temperatures within the range of 1100 ° C to 1250 ° C, analyzed for their flexural strength, linear retraction and determination of the water absorption index. In addition to microstructural analysis by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the replacement of the São Simão clay by the Prudentópolis clay, at a temperature of 1200 ° C, decreased the fire loss, the linear retraction of the fire and the water absorption, obtaining an increase in the mechanical resistance.
