Ni-based catalysts supported on y-Al2O3 and Al1,8Ce0,2O3 were obtained by synthesis by microwave assisted combustion, using urea as fuel. The catalysts were calcined at 550 ºC/3h and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), programmed temperature reduction (RTP), N2 fissisortion (BET-BJH), X-ray fluorescence (FRX), electron microscopy scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermogravimetry (TG) with coupled Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry (FTIR). The catalytic tests were carried out at a temperature of 700 ºC (activation and reaction) using a space velocity of 72 Lh-1 g-1 and a CH4 / CO2 ratio of 1 for 20 h. The characterization results reveal the influence of the Ce presence in the catalyst structure, in which it contributed to increase the coke resistance and stability of catalyst in the dry reforming reactions.
