The sisal fiber is a cheap material, easy extraction, renewable, biodegradable and easily finder in northeast region. Juazeiro city are nearby to Araripe Gossip Polo and Bahia, state that Juazeiro are inside, is the largest producer of sisal fiber in Brazil. This article find analyze mechanical proprieties of composite by gypsum, sisal fiber and polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) analyzing flexural strength, compressive strength and relationship by both with porosity. The flexural strength improved with the decrease of the fiber volume used and in the compression the fibers addition obtained worse results if both results were compared with pure gypsum. The addition of PVAc did not change the results for bending, but improved the results of compression and the gypsum matrix. The addition of sisal fibers is satisfactory even in lengths of 20 mm, avoiding fractures. The addition of PVAc was satisfactory when the use of gypsum was done without the addition of fibers improving the properties of composite gypsum and PVAc. |
