03-050 | Edson Roberto Leite | Leite, E.R.(Brazilian Nanotechnology National Laboratory/National Center for Research in Materials and Energy and Chemistry Department of Federal University of São Carlos); | The development of colloidal nanoparticles, mainly ceramic oxides and two-dimensional (2D) materials, with different organic layers, allows the development of different nanocomposites whose mechanical properties are controlled by the interphase between the nanoparticle and the polymer matrix. In this work, we will basically describe, the studies that we are conducting in our research group, of how an adequate and directional functionalization can control the mechanical properties of elastomeric and thermosets nanocomposites. We will describe the mechanical properties of elastomers based on modified polybutadiene with MoS2 and how the soft organic layer of nanoparticle (Fe3O4) modify the mechanical properties of elastomers based on PU and epoxy matrices. A special emphasis will be given in the preparation of the colloidal suspensions. |
